Bring us your biggest logs, your awkward trunks, or that random tree that fell in your yard. Seriously, stop hoarding fallen trees. We’ve got the blades, the power, and the complete lack of fear required to slice your Redwood, Walnut, Douglas Fir, Cedar, or stubborn local Oak into something useful. Let's turn that eye-sore into custom dimensional lumber, fencing, timber frames, or a live-edge slab so beautiful it’ll make your neighbors jealous.
We offer two straightforward ways to get your wood milled.
Best for smaller jobs, unique cuts, or logs that have seen better days.
Standard Rate: $150 per hour
Community Discount: $125 per hour for Elders, veterans, teachers, and residents of Hoopa, Orleans, and Weitchpec.
The Fine Print: There is a 3-hour minimum booking. We don’t fire up the big rig for "just one quick log."
Note on Time: The clock starts as soon as we say hello and get to work (including unloading, log positioning, and setups).
You bring the logs, we do the work, and we split the final yield right down the middle. You walk away with 50% of the custom-cut lumber without spending a dime on hourly rates.
Why we do it: We keep the other 50% to stock our own inventory.
We are picky: Because we are investing our time, fuel, and equipment for "free," we only accept premium timber for this option.
What we love: Clear, straight, high-value logs (Redwood, Western Red Cedar, Incense Cedar, Pacific Madrone, or nice Black Oak).
What we pass on: Rotten, twisted, heavily knotted logs, or anything that spent the last decade sitting in the mud. (For those, the standard hourly rate applies).
Local trees love swallowing old fence staples, homestead nails, and sometimes ancient bullets. If your log contains a hidden metal surprise that destroys our blade, you bought it. A $50 replacement fee applies to both hourly and 50/50 split jobs.
To keep 50/50 split jobs 100% fair and blind, we stack the freshly cut lumber into two equal, alternating piles right off the mill (one board to Stack A, one board to Stack B). No cherry-picking the best boards! Once the job is done, we flip a coin: you get one whole stack, we keep the other.
Milling creates literal mountains of sawdust and scrap slab-ends.
On Hourly Jobs: It’s all yours! Take it home for garden mulch, chicken bedding, or firewood. We are in the lumber business, not the garbage business.
On Split Jobs: We’ll happily keep the sawdust and handle the cleanup so you don't have to haul it back.
To keep our prices reasonable and our truck out of the ditch, we are strictly a stationary mill. We don’t do house calls. Your logs have to come to us but we will help you once you get here!
Step 1: The Virtual Screening
Before you load up, text or email us a couple of photos of your log pile, along with the species and approximate sizes. If it looks like a rotten sponge, we’ll let you know nicely.
Step 2: The Drop-Off
Once approved, drop the logs off at our yard. Good news: We’ve got a backhoe on-site to unload those monsters off your trailer. No back-breaking required. (No trailer? Let us know, and we can point you toward local haulers with self-loading trucks).
Step 3: The Payoff
We slice it to your exact specs, stack it neatly, and call you when it's done. Drive in with an empty truck, drive out with custom lumber, go build something awesome, and tag us on Instagram!
Drop us a text at 254.392.8493 or KlamathRiverVillage@gmail.com to talk about your logs and schedule a drop-off time.
